Tricky Tray
What a great showing of support & friendship last night for the Tricky-Tray event at the Inn. On behalf of the Event Committee & Selena's Family, thank you to everyone who came out to support the cause & to those of you who donated your time, talents & treasure!
Last year the event raised over $6000. Based on our ticket sales & the amount of bidding, we expect to surpass last year's achievements! Money raised is donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure - which raises awareness of breast cancer and fund research and patient care. The Northeast Director of Susan G Komen for the Cure, Dolly Woody, was with us last night to express her appreciation to the crowd. In addition, Carol Spitzer, a local breast cancer survivor & advocate shared her story & progress. Selena's niece also shared her class project with us. She is astudent council representative in the Wallenpaupack Middle School. Haley developed an event which raised over $300 for Susan G Komen.
The night was emotional for most remembering Selena. The event was truthfully spear-headed by Selena's courage & determination to do something to fight cancer which lead to our first event last October. Selena inspired us all as she fought her own personal battle.
I think Selena was smiling down upon us last night as she saw all of her family, friends and co-workers coming together, committed to continue the fight.
Next year's event will take place Sunday, October 24, 2010!
